THIS IS A VANITY PROJECT
Cat Cameo's forthcoming album, titled "Some Imaginings," evolved from a poet's attempt to get rid of words. Tired of being bogged down by so many unfinished fragments of poems, the poet decided to kill their darlings by stuffing them into songs.
"Some Imaginings," which has a planned release of Winter 2017, is structured into two parts: "Daydreams" and "Nightmares." The three songs featured on this site are all from the "Daydreams" portion of the album, and each attempt to express a poetic musing. "Teratogen," which is currently being mixed and will be shared in upcoming weeks, is part of the "Nightmares" song set. The album asks two essential questions. "Daydreams" asks, "What if I can keep a piece of something forever?" and "Nightmares" answers, "What if I'm a monster?" The underlying
is whimsical and sweet
smart purple sorrow
with a hint of reggae beat.
Cat Cameo is a vanity project of New Jersey poet and writer Serena Eve Richardson. This album is being produced in collaboration with Trading 8s Music LLC.
